I used to assist at Playboy in the old Playboy
building in the '80's and for one shoot we must have
had 20+ Speedo heads bouncing into the ceiling as well
as main lights, background lights etc.  The noise was
incredible.  Not like a noisy car muffler or anything
like that, but for a studio it was pretty darn noisy. 
It's the nature of those heads.
