[pure-silver] Re: (Slightly) OT: mirror and OM4

Thanks for the reply, Bil, I'll check it out.

The old glue is not on the mirror (i's a "half pass through" mirror, can't find
the right name right now, the spot meter is behind it).

Should I be concerned about the fact that the new glue on top of the old glue
will elevate the mirror a tiny bit, I mean will it influendce focussing?

Best,

Cor

I may be completely wrong here about glue to use, but
I'll give you one suggestion. Sold at builders supply
is a white glue called WELD BOND.

I'd be reluctant to try very hard at removing the old
glue. The mirror is a first surface mirror, and you
could actually remove the surface plating. If I were
in the same situation, I consider leaving the old glue
in place and I'd get some WELD BOND and a flat
toothpick and put a very small amount in the same
areas that the glue was in before.

I am not suggesting this is the best way, maybe
someone else knows something better, but that is what
I might try if it were me.
