Hello, Richard Knoppow wrote: snipThe aprons on rotary or flat electric dryers also notorious forbecoming contaminated but very few of these machines are used these days. The contamination from drying can be quite irregular so and blotchy so is a possible cause of the trouble here.I have one of those flat electric dryers that has an apron on both sides. What would be the best way of washing the aprons on this dryer. Is just soaking in regular household bleach enough or do I need a special chemical concoction? despite the fact that one of the aprons has some chemical splotches on it, I haven't had any transfer or contamination of the prints. Maybe just luck, but maybe time to get them cleaned. Any suggestions on what to do?--- Richard Knoppow Los Angeles, CA, USA dickburk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxCheers, Bogdan
My understanding is that a solution of houshold bleach (chlorine bleach) will decompose any thiosulfate in the cloth. It should be washed free of any bleach or soap. The biggest problem is keeping it from shrinking.
