Absolutely NaxS (polysulfide) is one of the ways to buy this chemical
The S-2 is the active part that creates Ag2S which is quite stable
That is the yellowish "Silver tarnish" in solid silver exposed to atmosphere.

Someone asked me via private e-mail if I really meant
to specify sodium sul_fide_ in the formulas. The answer is
definitly yes. The original formulas carry a warning not to
use sul_fite_ which is quite different and will not work as
a redeveloper.
