I used lulu once. I didn't think it was very good. But one of the problems might have been that the images were all black and white and scanned in gray scale. They had a funny cast to them. I think they would have looked better if I had scanned them in RGB.

I have always assumed that this type of service is more geared toward quick, inexpensive books, rather than quality reproduction.
