Yes, I agree, but my old creaky scanner and software are giving me fits,
so I have to fix that problem first :)
I did get a moment to put oil in and change the tires on my scanner and got a
look
at the negative ...
The mottling you see IS in the original neg, so this is almost certainly an
artifact
of the elderly film as Bob suggested originally.
Either that, or something bad happened in development. I think I shall develop
the next
batch in HC-110 or something like it to see if that improves things.
