[pure-silver] Same Exposure Different Prints?

Hi All,

I'm exposing and then developing in D72 (Dektol) 2 H20 + 1 Stock.

I get prints that are just lightly different, like one will be perfect, the 
other's highlights are too bright.
Is time in the developer that critical? Sometime I have trouble grabbing the 
sheet and by the time I get it out and let it drip, it's been 5-10 seconds over 
before it hits the stop bath.

Should I not let it drip? Straight into the stop?

Or should I increase development time to minimize the differences.

Ilford MG IV RC Pearl, 1 minute  in Dektol. (but I've noticed this with fiber 
prints before too)

Could it be that the dripping print maybe facing the safelight is more 
sensitive to the light?
I have not noticed any fogging on my prints (difference between border and 
image whites)

I suppose it could also be my timer or power source... but I don't really see 
how they could be off.
Gralab 500 electronic time, 150 Watt bulb.
