For what it is worth --- I have developed Kodak 35mm HIE in an old
(aprox. 35 years) Patterson tank without problems. I developed it in my
darkroom under my normal darkroom white lights. I never took the loaded
tank out of the darkroom so I cannot say if the tank would block a
strong IR source such as sunlight.
