Thank you for your research. But the big question is, would the photograph
then take on the appearence of canvas, or at least something close to
canvas: a hint of fabric texture? And in case there's any question, I'm
talking about common RA-4 process RC photo paper, not an inkjet type.
Mainly the goal I'm aiming for is one of perception. If what I show my
customers is different from anything they can get at WalMart, it gives me a
competitive edge. And if the customer has no comparision to the product,
they can't complain about the price.
Thanks!

I just checked Charrette.com and they have dry mount sheets and sheets
of dry mount adhesive that could be used for dry mounting canvas.
Evidently the Seal line of products has been taken over by BienFang.
They make a dry mount product called RagMount which is a sheet of
canvas with dry mount adhesive.
Happy Mounting

I have dry mounted canvas with my Seal dry mount press. Seal made a
canvas product called Chartex for dry mounting to maps and charts.
This gave the paper maps strength for rugged field use. I do not know
if it is still available, but it could be approximated with dry mount
adhesive and canvas.

While on the subject of laminating, I would like to make portraits with
a
canvas-like look. I'm considering going to the art supply store and
getting
the artist's canvas board (or whatever it's called!) and using an
adhesive
to mount a print on the canvas board with a fair amount of pressure and
some
heat in my drymount press. Is this likely to work, or am I just
whistling
'Dixie'?

I have laminated many things in the past with my Seal dry mount press.
In addition to the laminating sheets, Seal made a laminating sheet
called SealLamin. When laminating paper like news print photos, it
would greatly enhance the color, sort of like putting oil on the
newsprint. I do not know if it is still available, but I got mine at
Charrette art supply store in Woburn, Ma.
I also laminated cards with flowers, but they have to be absolutely
moisture free.

Hi,
I have a hot press for mounting prints. Is it possible to laminate
cards
with a hot press ? Or are those laminating machines generally hotter ?
Thanks
