[pure-silver] Re: OT Ebay to take Paypal only..

Hi,

Just to add my two Loonies worth to the issue. I am very glad that the Australians did something about eBay's preposterous attempt to set up a monopoly but you must remember that the current US American President has stated on numerous occasions that the government has no right to interfere in the free market place, after all "government is the problem, not the solution" (Ronald Reagan) . So I wouldn't hold my breath. eBay will do what it wants, after all it is looking after our interests :) (This is sarcasm on my part)

Cheers,
Bogdan

"But let's also not forget that eBay tried—and failed <http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20080612-australia-calls-shenanigans-on-ebay-paypal-only-policy.html>—to pull a PayPal-only stunt in Australia earlier this year. eBay used the same "transactions will be safer, more secure" spiel down under, but the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission <http://www.accc.gov.au/> said the move was unfair."
