If it is your intent to process the film then it would seem the easiest
approach would be a warm water bath that would "relax" the film then it
could be spooled for processing. Obviously it would need to be done in
total darkness. There were times when I would "pre wet" sheet film to get a
more consistent chemical impact and there were never any adverse effects.
You might want to "practice" loading a wet roll of film onto a spool so as
to not face that learning curve with the real deal, too!
