   I think you've pretty much summed up why I went with tanks for sheet film. 
Even if the tank cost some up front sooner or later all the chemicals I save 
will add up. 


        The reason you need a lot of developer in the tray isn't so much the 
number 
of negatives it's the size of the tray. Four 4x5 sheets are equal to about 
one 36 exposure 35mm roll.  But even if you only develop one sheet you'll 
need a fair bit of developer in the tray.
