"...DID YOU KNOW? That you can break the synch post off a Copal 1 shutter by
just looking at it. I did. And then found out that the elements of the lens
could be unscrewed and put onto another Copal 1 that was sitting in the
camera box and the whole day was saved. The lenses were a Nikkor 135 and a
Schneider 90 but the screw threads on the elements were interchangeable...

I will risk being a spoil sport and point out that though some lenses can screw
into the shutter of other lenses, the fstop markings won't necessarily be the
same. I managed to break the cable release connector off my 210 Nikor, but not
to worry because the 300 G Claron uses the same shutter and I can just exchange
it. However the fstop indicator gives me numbers that are off quite a bit. It
is interesting though to exchange rear elements along with the shutter.. or
even to try the lens without one of the elements put back on. All in good fun.
PS after buying a brand new shutter to replace the broken one I found it had no
fstop indicator at all so I had to order that also then I discovered that with
a bit of glue and new screws I could fix my old one so the new one sits in a
box looking pretty.
