BTW, what sort of shutter is on your 4x5? Many of the older shutters are very easy to clean. This will generally bring them on speed although not always. I've got a couple of Kodak Supermatics which run about a stop slow at the low speeds. I think this is due to a fatigued main spring but have found no sources of new springs.
