[pure-silver] Re: Mercury Intensifier (VMI)

I haven't done all the reading here that is for sure. Your information is
interesting. On an average, it appears that Mercury and compounds, is still
in the upper 1/3 of hazardous material in the environment.

The drift is the big concern with power plants. And I'm also sure that some
are now looking at my drift from photography to environmental issues. So .
back to the show : ) If any one know of parts for Nikon cameras, I had two
unfortunate accidents on my recent trip and family vacation. My 6006 hit the
ground hard enough to break the tab that holds the back shut and my old
trusty FE2 took a tumble in Yosemite when I stopped to help my daughter. All
my lens appear OK, so I may make that switch to a D200 : ( and keep shooting
my 4x5s, sheet and with roll film adapter.

Eric and others,

Well, I've just finished reading about where all the mercury pollution to
the Australian environment comes from, and I had no idea about some of the
figures. Electricity suppliers are the 5th highest polluters (into the air)
and are responsible for 'only' 4% (=1100kg) of the total amount (27000kg)
p.a.

The highest by far in Australia comes form Metal ore mining (which Australia
does a lot of) and comes out at a whopping 32% of the total amount put into
the air.
