I have had no end of problems with subscribers to my mailing list (news
updates etc) who are on Comcast.
They always report they have fixed it - and then suddenly it isn't and off
we go all over again.
I've now started having the same problems with rr.com

Someone posted a link to a pretty good article about Comcast but the points it makes are applicable to many ISPs. The real problem, IMO, comes from the very naive idea of business economy held by many Americans who think that a "free market" will cure all ills: it won't. To some extent regulation is necessary. I don't want to start a political blog here so I won't expand on this but we encounter it every day.
