When B&W photography was common and snapshots
were typically processed by some photofinisher contracted
by
the corner drugstore, the most common prints were glossy
finish contact prints on some blue-black paper like Velox.
Still my favorite style of print. For the most part I leave
toning to
others.

I don't know of another paper that looked quite like
Velox. Ansco's equivalent was excellent stuff but did not
have the bluish tone.
