A lot of fortunes were made then in fast trade of alcohol (completely legal in
Canada). Selling booze is one thing but most American leading familes have
a bit more blood in their family chests.. And turning our eyes to European
aristocracy: what do we see other than the decendends of robbers, smugglers
and thieves..

The Bronfmans, however, with their money have become a major force in
philanthropy.
