[pure-silver] Re: Increasing Grain

I'm coming to this late as I have been on the high seas for a month with no
internet - but when I used to pursue this effect I followed developing in
print developer or Rodinal by reticulating the film in hot then iced water.
The effect was not too apparent UNTIL the neg was intensified - then it
really jumped out. I was using the VMI mercury intensifier at that time (I
see there is a thread on that further on too, but haven't reached it yet) -
but a chrome intensifier would probably work well. With current films
reticulation can be quite difficult to see, but intensification shows it up.

Dear Friends,

Thanks for the wide range of ideas. I have already tried the Rodinal
1:25 and it is grainy. I shall next try Neutol NE and abuse the film
mightily in it. After that it is the grain screen. The best results from
this series of tests will determine what I use for the final shoot and the
person who gave me the best tip will get a free minifolio from that shoot.
