I did a pinhole project with my daughter a few years
ago where we built our own camera and shot a bunch of
pictures through it - our camera took 120 film, and
had masks to allow us to shoot various formats. We
used a Kodak 35mm film cannister mounted on the front
as a 'lens mount' and then took several caps, and
mounted our pinholes on these. What we found made the
best pinholes was to cut a piece of soda can, then put
a dimple in it with a pin, and sand with fine sand
paper until a hole emerged. We made about a half
dozen holes like this and then picked a couple that
looked good to actually shoot pictures with.
