Based on what you answered, I think this is more likely than shutter
grease.  But film advancing mechanism is perhaps the most complicated
part of TLR's so be very careful when opening the side panel.

Usually, Seiko or Copal type lens shutter has a lock and shutter
release cannot be depressed unless the shutter is charged, but this
may not be the case with Minolta Autocord.

My Mamiya C3 is a real beater but is still working perfectly fine.
With a Sekonic TwinMate meter on flash shoe, it works very nicely.
