What I do now is I estimate how many negatives I can print in a year. My estimate now is about 300. So I only shoot enough film for my yearly printing and developing time in Houston. I print about 2-3 negatives from each sheet of 120 film, but I print almost all my 4x5 and 8x10 negatives. So that figures into the calculation of how much film to shoot.
