[pure-silver] Re: Enlarger lens

Thanks for everyone. I understand that I need a test between two lenses. As
soon as I do I will tell my results.

As you have understood I am about to change my enlarger. My old one does not
have a head for color adjustments so I used to work with variable contast
filters. Now I have the change. One thing I want to learn is that, for contasrt
grades, it is published as two sets of data, one having one color and another
one having two colors equivalent contast grades. What is the difference in
between them. At first step I understand with two color data it was aimed to
have exposore to be same throught out the range to be same.

Of the two lenses the Nikon will be the sharpest, however the Rogonar has a
very interesting feature. It was designed to allow the insertion of filters
into the lens much like an old barrel lens with a slot. I used one for quite
awhile with a home made black stocking filter in the lens.

Keep them both as the Nikon will be excellent for sharp crisp detail and the
Rogonar will add its own character. As was suggested do a comparison print. You
may find sharpness isn't everything.
