Hello

I just bought an Ektanon 135/4.5 enlarging lens, but I kind of follishly assumed this would be in M39 mount. It now appear to be larger than M42, with a much denser thread. Could this possibly be M44? Anyway, I need to fit the lens on a 4x4 metal plate of a Beseler 45MX enlarger. The hole on the plate is too small to let the thread pass, so some kind of adapter would be required. Alternatively, I could use a retainer ring on some home built 4x4 plate - if only I had this king of ring.

Any idea what's the name of this kind of lens mount? Any idea where I could find either of the items described above? I understand that this is rather ancient stuff and that some eBay hunting might be in order. But it would be easier to find looking for it with its exact name.

Most older enlarging lenses did not have standard mountings.
Kodak enlarging lenses were supplied with either retaining rings or, in some cases, mounting flanges. The Kodak lens handbook does not give sizes. You may be able to get a ring from a dealer in used LF stuff or, perhaps, from one of the fellows specializing in repairing old enlargers. However, I suspect you will have to have one made. You can also makeshift a mount using a spring clip although this may damage the threads.
The Ektanon series was Kodak's second line of enlarging lenses. however, the Ektar was made only up to 100mm focal length.
I frankly would not spend much money on this because you can get better lenses, like Schneider Componons, for relatively low prices.
Note that Kodak rated this lens for 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 and not for 4x5.
