Result...
I shot another roll last night, exposed at ASA25.
I did not use a pre-rinse but did agitate for the first 30 secs. I then left
alone for the rest of the 25 minutes, stopped and fixed as normal.
I have got much better negs this time so I am assuming, at this moment, that
the pre-rinse was the "culprit".
I can now see the good things said about the Efke film as they look very
nice.

If you do try again, all I can suggest is to watch everything carefully, in
case there was some other gremlin hiding out somewhere in the process. I
rate Efke 25 at 25 outdoors when developed this way. Good luck and let us
know what happens :)
