[pure-silver] Re: Editions and Numbering

An ever interesting topic this.
You might find this article by Brooks Jensen also interesting
http://www.brooksjensenarts.com/What%20Size%20is%20the%20Edition.pdf

It's a pdf but you can find it through his website
http://www.brooksjensenarts.com if you dig deep enough.
It is thought provoking.

Also, re the practice mentioned of dry mounting the print and leaving a
reveal to sign on the under matt, see Alan Ross's comments here (scroll down
to the last article)
http://www.alanrossphotography.com/ar20/techForum.html
I use the same principle as Alan Ross, having stopped dry mounting as a
routine maybe 20 years ago, although I still do if requested.

He also has a different philosophy about editioning as you will read in his
other pages.

There are many differences in opinion and practice, when it comes to the
editioning/sizes questions raised by the 1st poster, also re pricing -
prices when sold privately or through galleries for example

Thanks to all who commented on the subject. There is some valuable info
here.

It really reinforced my thinking on the subject.

Cheers
