[pure-silver] Re: Developer choices for Ilford FP4+ - Justin's D76

Janet, In the old days we had the Photo Lab Index that published many
formulas for developers, toners, etc. Today besides being able to go on
line, there is Anchel's Darkroom Cookbook and the project with Bill Troop,
The Film Developing Cookbook. And while any time formulas are written down
there is a chance for a mistake, by and large these books are great
resources that want to make their own. The Photographers Formulary and
Artcraft are two good sources for bulk chemistry. I am either blessed or
cursed in having a chemical supplier close by. Blessed in that I don't need
to get to many chems shipped any more but cursed that if there is an
accident I just pray the wind is blowing out of the West. : (

Justin,

What do you mean, "homemade D76"? Is it a special concoction that is like
D76 or do you mean you mix D76 yourself with water? I see recipes for
developers and washes, but the stuff it's made from sounds rare and foreign
to me.

Thanks.

Hi all,

I'm about to take a trip to Tuscon, Arizona for

(developed in D76), I've decided to try some
Ilford FP4+ in 35mm this time.

I use homemade D76 with it. FP4 and Delta 400 are my two films.. and they
both get souped in homemade D76.
