Testing one roll of film is hardly "extreme" caution :-)  Shoot a roll
normally, process it according to whatever time/temp you want, and make
sure you're happy with the outcome.  I'm not talking about doing a full
Zone calibration or generating H+D curves, I'm just saying, make sure
you like before commit to it.

Agreed.  But my point remains; using an unfamiliar film with an unfamiliar
developer without first testing is risky.
