I don't own a densitometer, so I haven't really paid much attention
to the curves of various films. But, I'm starting to believe it would
be useful to develop a sort of mental association between a look and
a curve.
So, does anyone have a recommendation about a website that shows,
say, a single scene, shot with various films, and showing the
accompanying curve for each film? I'd like to look at the curve for
Tri-X (for example) and at the photograph, then the same scene with
Acros' curve and at its photograph, so I can see that, say, 'a sharp
shoulder looks like such-and-such, compared to a more stright-line
curve'.
