[pure-silver] Boosting contrast in paper development

Hi,

It was sometimes ago I was complaining about not getting proper contast and I
was suspecting about replacing my condenser with diffuser based one.

I was told that there are differences by 1 paper grade atmost between the
enlarger types.

I was told to chech and do not expect to have all the contast ranges with
varible filter set avaliable in the enlarger head.

I was told that paper contast will be same or at most differ one grade since
the development of paper goes to completion and is different than film in this
sense. The developer has different speeds reaching to D-max.

Especially thanks to Richard Knoppow for the info and experince sharing.

So in this sense contast may be obtained by completing development to D-max on
blacks and not allowing the midtones going completion. If this true, dilute
development without agitation may help. Is this true? Any emphasis if this true
by lith developer?

Any comments before my trials?
