[pure-silver] Arista EDU Ultra

Well I recently got my hands on some Arista Edu Ultra film in 100 an 400 speed.
Looks like it was made by Freestyle Photographic Supplies or at least marketed
by them.

It was inexpensive so I figured what the hey and picked up about 10 rolls. The
worst that could happen was I didn't like it, but more often than not the film
has far less impact on the photograph than the photographer.

Now that being said all films have their strengths and weaknesses. Anyone ever
use this film? What did you like or dislike? Is in a film that is really
something else being sold under another label?? I rarely see the Arista brand
here. Could be as much location as anything. Never heard of the EDU with film.
Ok I know its for students, (I may be dumb but I ain't so dumb that I have to
be shown how to hook a seat belt) yet I wondered what the actual difference in
the film itself happens to be.

Funny how I have often had very good luck with expired film. You just have to
be smart as to when to use it. IF its color critical, no way. If its photos
you can't make again, nope. Not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent. Yet for
fun on a Sunday afternoon, I have had some really nice surprises.

Actually I am always amazed at how tolerant film can be. A number of years ago
I stumbled on to a roll of film in a storage box. Exposed but undeveloped. I
had no idea where it came from. I thought this has to be junk, but I am going
into the darkroom anyway tonight so why not. Well as it turned out there were
images there. They were taken at a Cubs baseball game on one of the first
dates I had with my wife. There was one of the late Harry Carey signing
autographs before the game that is on my light table, an this is after sitting
for about 10 years in the heat, cold, and poor storage conditions of any old
storage box. Wonder how many Cd's would have made it through usable.
