I was thinking of this in an admittedly kinky way; the light source
on the moon is the Sun (which wasn't lighting anything else in the
scene) and the reflectance of the moon is known.  Thus, the total
light coming *from* the moon is the product of the light falling
on it and the reflectance of the moon - an incident situation.
Kinky, I know.  Before someone says I'm suggesting that incident
meter readings be taken in space, let me say that I'm not.

A little editorial license is nothing new in this thread :-)
