I used Pyrocat HD a couple of years ago and compared it to Xtol and several other developers. It was visibly grainier than Xtol and brightest highlights lost edge definition. It did produce a stain image in relief. I went to the trouble to set up a portrait outdoors with the sun above but well behind the subject, who was lit by a strobe in a soft box, to test its ability to separate the high values. I found nothing to recommend it over Xtol. 

I'll go downstairs and look up times and temps later, if you need.
