One thing about Kodak that I experienced that Ihave never experienced with

explained
why they answered it the way they did in language a dumb photographer

I have heard many similar stories.

That being said, Ilford has done the exact same thing for me. I was
floored when it happened. I'm in IT and I'm used to having to wait 3 days
for an email reply and that's IF, I have a paid support subscription..

Now in regards to Kodak, Ilford, Efke, J&C and whomever is in the film
biz, it might be because I spend most of my days trying to justify yet
another multi million dollar IT project to incredibly skeptical controllers,
but I've come to the jaded opinion that a company's institutional function
is to turn a profit. That's why businesses exist. There is nothing new to
this at all.

Kodak and all the others, will continue to produce whatever, so long as
there's a profit to be made.

There's no altruistic element in there at all.. don't believe the
marketing hype. They are all in it, to make money. That's why businesses
exist. It's possible that the smaller shops are also in it for the love of
the product they sell, but reality will soon come knocking on their doors.
It just might take them a while longer to hear the knocking.
