I would think that PSK256 would work great, just as PSK125 has. Even though PSK125 has double the bandwidth of PSK63, there is not a 3db signal to noise penalty in actual practice since no one was probably running a 63 Hz filter on receive and had to widen it out to 125 Hz when moving to PSK125. The reality is that most of us are probably running a 300 to 500 Hz filter on receive. So the optimum situation would be to have the transmitted bandwidth fill up the available receiver passband. PSK256 would probably be about the max for a 300 Hz receive filter since the receive filters may have some phase delay issues at the 3 db down points, depending on the filter design (the black magic of poles and zeroes).

Still working on getting the RF side working on my server. I'll be playing with my client today and see if I can connect to some other servers. I'm currently trying to figure out how to save the config data in fldigi. It seems to forget which serial port to use to key the radio.

Rein, please let me know if I am sending to the list from the wrong email address. I can't remember which one I used when I signed up.

Hi,

For status you can try sending "~STATUS?". That should give you the
servers uptime, disk space and ping times. "~GETBEACONS" shows how many
times the server has heard the connected stations beacons (aprs).

I haven't tried PSK256, I sort of initiated the move to fldigi and
PSK125 to get more speed so evn more speed would be interesting.
I have also tried RFSM2400 that is a MIL-STD-188-110A implementation
that really flies (2000 bps on ham rigs). But, at the moment psk256 is
not supported in fldigi, I would try it right away if it was.

Jason That narrow filter cant help but improve the signal. Does anyone
know how to query the server for status? Are there commands that can
change the operation of ther server while online? I think I have the
scanner setup, and will be on freq's 7.103.5 [dial] 10.14700 [dial]
14.076 [dial] all on psk125 . Has anyone considered Psk256 I
can run ithat on mixw32 and it really humm's
