The AC97 device sounds like the mo-bo built-in one. What do you get
if you enter $ ls /dev/dsp*

I'm running mandrake 10.1
I think part of the (my) confusion is the part where it tries to talk about TT0, TT1, etc.
But first, right now, I'm trying to see if the hardware detection thingie can see the creative card.
I see that it's found "ICH2810Chipset AC'97 audio controller' and "CT5880 multimedia_audio" but that doesn't strike me as being the right one.
Any ideas?
