Hi Rein,
           this change to fldigi has made a big change to my client
operation on Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit :-)
I used to get random crashes, some were down to soundcard issues but
others seemed unexplained. My client has been running now for 24+ hours
and I hope that the revised software gets into the next fldigi release.
