I will include lsof and ntpdate. beacon.pl is perhaps due for a removal. It was used with cron to have a beacon but that is now in the main server. Did artsd disturb gmfsk use of /dev/dsp ? I haven't had a problem with that, its easy to close down artsd of course. Yes, I see your point about persistent home directories.
