Thanks for the info!
Regarding the requests for grib files vie email its easy to send that
request, either as a proper message during a connected session or as a
simple pskaprs, unconnected, message. See the included screenshot.
Just make sure the server knows who you are, your email settings
uploaded to it, as it will be difficult to set where to send the files
otherwise ;-)

Regarding the sizes its of course wise to limit what is sent. The simple
request on the screenshot resulted in a 1 kB big message. That should
not be a problem. But, if you increase the data then the transfer is
longer and there is an option in the server to limit the sizes sent.
Cant remember the default now but I guess 10 kB ? (Someone will check
and prove me wrong there ;-)).

Also, when requesting this I got a binary file in response. I don't know
 if it will work to get that. Did someone test that already?
Perhaps you nee to read the email in compressed mode (READPAQ) ?
