Hi Vojtěch,

Got the time to download and install Visual Studio 3.0. I can re-compile and
run the Pocketdigi software on my pda (a Dopod/HTC unit running Windows
Mobile 6).

I have started working on the code and I would like to incorporate some of
the code that Dave Freese (W1HKJ) has developed with Flarq since there is
great similarity with Pskmail at the protocol level.

My first target is to develop the connected & unproto position report, then
move on to text email send and read on the mobile device.

That way I don't need to carry around the laptop when going away as I tend
to only use these two functions (APRS position report and text mails).

The advantage for 4WDing is the fact that I can also use the GPS input
simultaneously for both topographic maps tracking (important to find the way
back...hihi) and the position reporting as windows mobile 6 has a GPS front
end to allow multiple devices to read from one GPS.

Not having a laptop in the cabin while going on tracks is a safety advantage
(in case of the car rolling over), while regularly feeding the latest
position is a good safety option.

The only problem I have is that when I try to compile Dave's file it makes
reference to classes that are not present in the default project setup like
the String, iostream and vector classes. I have looked on the Internet and I
can find a reference of this in the MS .NET framework.

It seems that by going to the latest development solution I could resolve
this, but I would like to keep the program compatible with earlier versions
of Windows CE too.

Can you give me some pointers as to how I can get Dave's code to compile
without re-writing the whole lot?

Also, is there a forum more focussed on pocketdigi developments, rather than
loading this one with development questions?

Best regards,

John (VK2ETA)
