Has anyone here got a Kenwood TS-590S working with a jPSKmail version 2 client under Windows 8/64?
OK, let's move on. Can someone here confirm that the v2.0.31 client runs properly under *any* version of Windows?
I believe I have configured it correctly. (I think) I have successfully made Connect requests to SM0RWO -- the audio is present in the TX signal, and immediately after I make the request, a strong signal replies several times in the same mode.
But the incoming data stream is just a meaningless string of characters, so the connection is not completed.
Originally I had set the dial frequency to 10.147000 MHz USB, but jPSKmail reported an offset of +44 Hz. So I then gradually shifted the VFO until the offset was down to about +5 Hz, but still the incoming data was not recognised.
SM0RWO is very strong here during the day/early evening, and I am absolutely certain the incoming audio from the radio (from the TS-590S USB port) is reaching the client.
So, a couple of questions:1. Is there a bug in the client under Windows that prevents received data being recognised?
2. How tolerant is the TX/RX tuning before data recognition becomes impossible?
3. What am I doing wrong? -- 73 Ian, G3NRW
