Just managed to connect SA6BQZ-1 Gunnar, saw the link go from PSK500R, up to

PSK500, then down again via PSK500R, PSK250R, PSK125R to THOR22 and then
up the ladder again to PSK500R.

The reason for downgrading was an illegal pactor3 qso which started on
top of us.

So, nothing wrong....

I will do some more test but so far it has happened 2 out of tree times. I
have no local QRM as what I can hear when listening to the server, and if so
why does it work on 500 when reconnecting. One test that could be done is if
an other client then myself could try to connect to SA6BQZ-1 and se if the
problem is still there, do you reach it?

Regarding the mode switching, this is only significant if you can reproduce
it, i.e. if it happens
all the time.... there can be hundreds of reasons why a server switches down
in mode.
The most obvious reason is QRM at the server site. Maybe local qrm you
cannot hear from
the client.

You can see how many users there are by looking at
http://hermes.esrac.ele.tue.nl/maps/pskmailers.php
or at http://www.pskmail.it
All red markers are users, the blue ones are servers.
There are many users and servers in US you cannot see on the map,
because they are MARS stations which are not on ham frequencies...

User profiles are different. Most users employ the APRS capability.
The gateway service is mostly used by mobile hams like you and me :)
We will talk about frequency plans and PR during the September meeting.

Hi,

I have been testing the latest alpha server and client and there is one
question:
I am doing the test from my boat 1km away from my server and then a new
thing is happening!
When connecting it is in PSK500 but nearly directly it goes over in Thor32
mode. If I reconnect it connects in 500 mode and stays there the whole
connection.

Is there any statistics on how many "real" clients that are using the
system. Now it seems to me as if we are a group of servers that not so many
are using.
This is a question for the September conferens how to get info out so more
people will be able to use the system.
Looking at my server I have not been gating anyone exept myself since I got
it on the air again after my vaccation.
