Here is a work around that is working. 1) Boot PSKlive from the CD. 2) Configure everything. 3) Save the configuration to the USB memory with saveit script. 4) Reboot machine from the USB memory 5) Run getfromstick script to restore configuration.
It does take two partitions on the USB stick. Anytime a configuration needs to be changed, you must boot PSKlive from CD, save config to USB stick, then reboot with USB stick.

Hee hee! It was so obvious, I couldn't see it! Actually, for some reason, I was logged in as root when I was searching for the wizards. They are not there (nor the ham applications) under root.I have PSKLive booting off of the USB memory and it sure is a lot faster than the CD. I knew that it would be mounted as a read only file system so I partitioned the USB memory into two partitions. One for PSKlive and one writeable to save configuration data with the getfromstick and saveit scripts. However, it appears that the first partition has to be the bootable one. It also appears that the first partition is where the saveit script wants to save the config data.Has anyone else figured out how to run PSKMail from a USBmemory 'and' save config data to it?Thanks and 73, Fred wb5con Per Crusefalk wrote:Hi Fred, Yes, I remastered MCNLive and I kept that menu in there. Its just beneath the "ham radio" menu. As I am running the live distro nowI have included a screen shot with that menu exposed. 73 de Per, sm0rwoHello Per, I was thinking that you built the PSKLive CD using MCNLive. Their website shows how to create a bootable USB flash memory using some wizards. I have looked on the menus of PSKLive but have not found the wizards. What would be involved in creating a bootable USB memory PSKLive? Thanks and 73, Fred wb5con
