Hi Bernard,
I am not sure of the context of your comments:
A] If you are talking of using a server like Robert's one then I can't see
why you could not do that since the email server for sending is not linked
to your receiving email provider.
But it does require that you have a valid return address in your email
preferences and that the server is updated with this return address.
B] If, on the other hand, you are talking about trying to use GMAIL for
sending from a server that you are setting-up then the solution is
described in the last section of that web page:
