Hello Per and everyone!!

Hope those of you that celebrate thanksgiving had a good one. Per, what i
wanted to know is if pskmail was capable of connecting and sending e-mails as
if you were running a bbs. I believe that was a funtion of Winlink at one time.
That way if you happen to have computer problems or a palmtop that doesn't have
the actual software you would still be able to retrieve or send emails?

Thanks for the info on how to retrieve package dependencies also, I have
tried to look that up and have failed to find the info, must have been typing
the wrong search words, damn linux newbie!!!

I have one more question. My laptop, Toshiba Libretto 100ct has an external
cdrom, what would be the easiest way to try to run the live cd? It doesn't have
a function to boot from cd's. I know I will probably have to make a boot
floppy, can you suggest a way do do so.
I think I have a redhat boot floppy, i will have to look around.

I have also finished the dl of the server live cd. I have dling it mostly at
night so I could free up the phone line during the day.

Thanks again for you patience and help.

  Hi Jason and welcome,

I guess you must have succeeded in downloading that cd as I have no
active downloads at the moment. I also use pskmail when I am mobile and
also when sailing or in a cabin on the Aland islands. It works great and
I always use an Yaesu FT-817 so just QRP as well.

Great info on fldigi, I just wonder why I have not seen it before.
I got a message from the author (Dave, W1HKJ) saying that the IPC
mechanism is already in place so I will test that asap.
If I get it working, which I don't see why I should not, then I will
look to include it on the live distros.

Hmmm, I havent touched Red Hat 7 in a lot of years. I did install oracle
database servers on Red hat 7, that must have been somewhere near 2000
or even before that. I cant say if its possible. Well, anything is
possible but within reasonable amounts of effort is another matter.
I really dont know.

the server from a remote station to send email.

I don't quite follow you there. Can you rephrase that ?
I'm just home from the pub here, a friend at work just became a
grandfather so we had a few beers... So, I'm probably not as quick as I
should be at the moment...

Thank you for coming along and testing the software, the more the
merrier is absolutely true!
