I installed the live-cd on HD then rebooted and from the HD, 'install on usb-stick' with the CD inserted .

Hi Renauld,

It looks like its built to run from the live cd only. It looks for the
compressed image that is used when run as a live cd, did you run it from
an installed system ?

seem  to be missing on the CD.
