Hi Karel, I know some wifi drivers had to be removed from the ubuntu install cd due to license restrictions. I would suggest that you add the other repositories so that it is able to look for a matching package. Please have a look at the "Ubuntu 10.10 Perfect desktop" tutorial at howtoforge: http://www.howtoforge.com/the-perfect-desktop-ubuntu-10.10-maverick-meerkat It will show you how to enable those extra repositories and also install all the other extra things a modern desktop "needs". I cant guarantee that it will find what you are looking for but it has solved similar issues I have had in the past. 73 de Per SM0RWO lör 2011-02-12 klockan 13:58 -0500 skrev karel Fassotte: > The alsamixer I tried. > > > I also installed Ubuntu 10.1. do you have any suggestion for the > wireless?? > I cant find any drivers for the pressario CQ56-124LA laptop. > Thanks > Karel > > 2011/2/12 Rein Couperus <rein@xxxxxxxxxxxx> > > For sound setup in the puppy CD: do alsamixer in a terminal > just follow the instructions... if nothing works, a simple USB > headphone device will... > > Puppy has a phantastic wifi setup program: > Setup->Internet connection wizard > > > Rein EA/PA0R/M > > ========== > > Hello Rein thanks for the short instructions. > I tried the live cd's first.
