James, the next server (v. 7.17) will have a telnet agent which enables telneting into a packet node to get your mail. For this you need a packet node which allows telnet access via the internet. I am testing this at the moment and I can now handle my packet mailbox at DB0PDF via pskmail. The other route has not been taken yet. I.e. adding a telnet port to the server so you can use the agents on the server via your VHF packet system. For this the server has to be upgraded to multi-connect, which is on the to-do list. It would also be easy to build a dedicated server for packet access. The code is modular, so it will be easy to isolate the application layer module and add a telnet input to it. This could then be combined with e.g. an (X)net node on the same machine, or JNOS. We would need a volunteer with some spare time and perl programming skills who wants to do this. 73, Rein PA0R > -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- > Von: "James French" <w8iss@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Gesendet: 10.09.08 10:05:37 > An: pskmail@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Betreff: [pskmail] Interfacing with Packet > I am wondering if anyone has intefaced pskmail with their local VHF > packet systems? > X-Forwarded-for: rein@xxxxxxxxxxxx by Tucows > > I won't be doing any HF anytime soon, but looking at using pskmail for > statewide and crosslinking between our local JNOS network here in > Michigan. > > James W8ISS > > > > -- http://pa0r.blogspirit.com
