Dave
I have tried it on another computer and it seems to work very well
with the client.

Per,
What about the new version of fldigi that doesn't need hamlib at all ?
Have you tested it ?
That is the version I am hoping we can include with the client
distribution.

Hi Rich,
I think I have tried that (will go upstairs to the schack and test) and
had no problem. But, I will test. Regarding the latest fldigi I think it
wants the very latest hamlib (1.2.6, released 22nd December) and thats
not on the cd.
Regarding that cd I have been looking at all sorts of options for
building a new distro. At the moment I am leaning towards using either
knoppix, fedora or sticking to Mandriva for a while.
The "tiny" distros seems only to have one goal: size. With that in mind
I find it very difficult to get something that works on DSL and
Puppylinux. I think the best and maintainable way is to go with one of
the mature distros as they have working repositories with evrything
needed. If I have to manually install everything then I can for sure get
something that works, once, but maintaining and upgrading will not be
nice.
Ubuntu does have a live cd and I can remaster that but its not very
straight forward at all. Fedora seems much better and I am a bit
interested in the newest knoppix that uses aufs instead of unionfs.
But, the current mcnlive/Mandriva based distro seems to work for a lot
of hams and I'm not sure we will have better success if I change to
another distro...
