Hi Rob, The line "use arq;" is there to tell psk_arq.pl to use stuff from the arq.pm module (quite a lot of stuff actually). An error there probably means that it was unable to find the module and its not installed properly. That is a critical error, please recheck the installation. Regarding the connects I wonder if you are able to ping the server? Can you montor the server to see other stations connect? I have worked pskmail from various places using only an FT-817 (5 watts) and a random wire antenna (5 meters). For instance I used that from Cyprus and connected to my server in Stockholm, had the antenna just thrown over a tent then (a military tent hospital). That kind of operation requires filters, I use real 500 Hz filters on both sides and also noise reduction dsp on the server and narrow bandpass dsp on the client radio now (I use an FT-897 nowadays). If you have difficulties maintaining an arq connect then you could try an aprs message or a pskaprs email message, those are async and could get you started. 73 de Per, sm0rwo sön 2008-07-13 klockan 23:25 -0700 skrev Rob Frohne: > Hi John, > > Well, I got VE7SUN to try and answer me, but no connection, however, > upon looking more closely, I found that I'm getting an error > in /usr/share/pskmail/psk_arq.pl on line 73, where it says use arq, and > this is in another account that has never run the server.
